the simplicity we all want from a pair of jeans... complemented by a timeless, powerful, feminine silhouette. inspired by a beloved pair of 1950s five pocket jeans, catherine is our nod to the glory days of denim.

as a part of our ongoing Cotton Project, this pant is constructed with Mount Vernon denim made from cotton that's been farmed regeneratively, ginned, and spun in the USA, then dyed with natural indigo grown in the southeast by Stony Creek Colors.

How To Measure

first thing's first, grab a pair of your favorite pants that have a similar rise. find a measuring tape and a flat surface to measure on. be sure to lay your pants flat, smoothing out the fabric to remove any slack. compare the measurements to the chart below.

waist

the circumference of the waistband, along the top edge.

hip

the width at the bottom of the J stitch, straight across. double the flat measurement.

Front rise

the length from the bottom of the crotch seam to the top edge of the front waistband.

thigh

starting 1” below the crotch seam, the width of the leg perpendicular to the outer seam. double the flat measurement.

leg opening

the width of the opening at the bottom of the leg. double the flat measurement.

inseam

following the inside-leg seam, the length from the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.

before a new jean is released, a member of our team takes the time to wear them day in and day out, in order to see exactly how the pant evolves over time.

notes:

i really enjoyed wearing these jeans! i have a few pairs of catherines and they fit just like my others. the fabric is super soft yet thicker than some of my other light washes, and the wash is easy to wear with about anything -- not too dark or light.

i normally wear a size 28 in i+w and these fit true to size at first, they felt comfortably snug. after a few wears, they opened up nicely and molded to my body without giving too much. they became comfortable while still holding shape.

to me, these are a perfect in-between shade. they're super easy for me to style, and they have made a great addition to my closet.

four years ago, we embarked on a project centered on taking our commitment to domestic manufacturing to the next level.

we started with the second half of our uniform, a plain white t-shirt. but from day one, we knew we wanted to continue these efforts with our first love: blue jeans.

while using our regeneratively farmed cotton was the foundation of this next step, we wanted to take it even further.

we wanted to use natural indigo.

stony creek colors
just thirty miles north of our home nashville, lies Stony Creek Colors: a regenerative farm that grows plant-based dyes throughout the southeast, including natural indigo.

this farm was founded with the intent of producing natural indigo the way it used to be made: as a 100% plant-based dye, all while practicing regenerative farming practices.

for us, these two jeans and the Cotton Project tees that preceded them are both a statement of commitment and a challenge to the apparel industry.

by seeing through the entire process, from planting a seed to releasing a garment, we want to challenge the prevailing model of exporting American cotton overseas for production. in the process, we can reinvest our own efforts back into the communities close to home.
