sewn from a killer 100% cotton Japanese selvage denim that's deep indigo in shade, the eastland wash is defined by its lightly contrasted (almost subtle) abrasions -- reflecting the wear of a jean that's just beginning its life cycle: broken in, but with plenty of miles left ahead.

How To Measure

first thing's first, grab a pair of your favorite pants that have a similar rise. find a measuring tape and a flat surface to measure on. be sure to lay your pants flat, smoothing out the fabric to remove any slack. compare the measurements to the chart below.

waist

the circumference of the waistband, along the top edge.

hip

the width at the bottom of the J stitch, straight across. double the flat measurement.

Front rise

the length from the bottom of the crotch seam to the top edge of the front waistband.

thigh

starting 1” below the crotch seam, the width of the leg perpendicular to the outer seam. double the flat measurement.

leg opening

the width of the opening at the bottom of the leg. double the flat measurement.

inseam

following the inside-leg seam, the length from the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.

before a new jean is released, a member of our team takes the time to wear them day in and day out, in order to see exactly how the pant evolves over time.

if you are wanting to skip the first few months of rigid denim and want something with the softness of a pair of broken-in jeans, these are the pair for you. they have the look and feel of well worn selvedge jeans after a wash or two -- the whiskering looks authentic and even bunches on the whisker lines.

with i+w i'm typically a 30. i took my normal size here, and they started a little snug, but loosened with one wear. after several wears they became very comfortable -- generous in the waist without falling off of me.

being primarily a rigid jean person, it took me a day or two to feel like myself in these, but once i got used to the softer fabric, i really appreciated the comfort they provided.
