ever since the closure of the Cone Denim White Oak plant in 2017, we've been hard at work finding a partner who could help us replicate our original core denim.

after countless months of trial and error working hand-in-hand with Kaihara, we landed on a fabric that we feel represents the heart and soul of our OG selvage denim. and the icing on top: this denim has the same orange selvage id from our original fabric.

barton sits right on the hips and is slim through the thigh and knee.

How To Measure

first thing's first, grab a pair of your favorite pants that have a similar rise. find a measuring tape and a flat surface to measure on. be sure to lay your pants flat, smoothing out the fabric to remove any slack. compare the measurements to the chart below.

waist

the circumference of the waistband, along the top edge.

hip

the width at the bottom of the J stitch, straight across. double the flat measurement.

Front rise

the length from the bottom of the crotch seam to the top edge of the front waistband.

thigh

starting 1” below the crotch seam, the width of the leg perpendicular to the outer seam. double the flat measurement.

leg opening

the width of the opening at the bottom of the leg. double the flat measurement.

inseam

following the inside-leg seam, the length from the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.

denim wear test

before a new jean is released, a member of our team takes the time to wear them day in and day out, in order to see exactly how the pant evolves over time.

notes:

having owned a number of i+w jeans these are a standout. the sturdiness of the denim is noticeable from day one. the indigo is rich and timeless, and they broke in easy and quickly “felt like mine,” without losing any of their integrity.

i’m a 29 and these were just that. i have at times chanced a snug waistband believing they would ease up to a comfortable fit (they often do).but these landed on my waist just right from day one.

after a few weeks of wear and an inaugural wash, they snugged up (nearly) back to their original form - this time with an added softness and wearability. they bend where I bend, and remain crisp and rigid elsewhere.

these will no doubt be a trusty go-to for a long time.
