How To Measure

first thing's first, grab a pair of your favorite pants that have a similar rise. find a measuring tape and a flat surface to measure on. be sure to lay your pants flat, smoothing out the fabric to remove any slack. compare the measurements to the chart above.

waist

the circumference of the waistband, along the top edge.

hip

the width at the bottom of the J stitch, straight across. double the flat measurement.

Front rise

the length from the bottom of the crotch seam to the top edge of the front waistband.

thigh

starting 1” below the crotch seam, the width of the leg perpendicular to the outer seam. double the flat measurement.

leg opening

the width of the opening at the bottom of the leg. double the flat measurement.

inseam

following the inside-leg seam, the length from the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.

before a new jean is released, a member of our team takes the time to wear them day in and day out, in order to see exactly how the pant evolves over time.

as a mid-size woman with hips, it can be relatively difficult for me to find jeans that actually fit my body when so much clothing is designed based on thin folks, so i was both drawn to and wary of a high-waisted jean with a nipped-in waist. upon trying them on, i found them to be quite flattering and surprisingly comfortable after a little breaking in.

i'm semi-between sizes right now but am currently reaching for 32s and that's what i went for with these. i found they fit true to size for me.

my first day of wear was an 8-hour shift at the shop, which is my favorite way to break in a pair of i+w denim! i noticed them starting to really feel broken-in on my 2nd/3rd days of wear.

this jean surprised me with how soft and comfortable it became after breaking in the waist a little, and i'm thankful to have finally found a pair of jeans that i feel good in and can keep up with me across shifts at the shop and day to day life.
