when we set out to release a new denim fit, it's imperative to us that it conveys a feeling, and more than that, is something that sets itself apart from the rest of our offering.

featuring a true mid rise and an easy, open leg, edie is in many ways an unexpected combination for us. the top block is intentionally accommodating, sitting on your hips and effortlessly extending into a full, straight leg.

How To Measure

first thing's first, grab a pair of your favorite pants that have a similar rise. find a measuring tape and a flat surface to measure on. be sure to lay your pants flat, smoothing out the fabric to remove any slack. compare the measurements to the chart above.

waist

the circumference of the waistband, along the top edge.

hip

the width at the bottom of the J stitch, straight across. double the flat measurement.

Front rise

the length from the bottom of the crotch seam to the top edge of the front waistband.

thigh

starting 1” below the crotch seam, the width of the leg perpendicular to the outer seam. double the flat measurement.

leg opening

the width of the opening at the bottom of the leg. double the flat measurement.

inseam

following the inside-leg seam, the length from the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.

edie is such a versatile fit -- it's a great addition to any wardrobe! my favorite feature is the rise; because the waist isn't overly nipped in, it functions as a true mid-rise that can also be styled lower on the hip for a low-rise look.

my true size is 33, which is what i wore for this test. they do relax quite a bit, so i could have easily sized down to a 32 or even up to a 34 for a slouchier fit.

initially, they were quite fitted in the hips and looser in the waist, but after a few wears, the hips relaxed significantly while the waist remained about the same.

i had a great experience wearing these -- they are incredibly comfortable without sacrificing fit or style, and are versatile enough that i felt comfortable doing just about anything in them.
