initially patterned after a vintage men's 5-pocket jean, cass mimics the squared-off mid-rise with a relaxed top block of a vintage jean, while extending down into an easy, tapered leg. 

in many ways cass is versatile to a degree that our other jeans haven’t always been -- it truly communicates the same feeling regardless of who's wearing it: nostalgic, but timeless.

How To Measure

first thing's first, grab a pair of your favorite pants that have a similar rise. find a measuring tape and a flat surface to measure on. be sure to lay your pants flat, smoothing out the fabric to remove any slack. compare the measurements to the chart below.

waist

the circumference of the waistband, along the top edge.

hip

the width at the bottom of the J stitch, straight across. double the flat measurement.

Front rise

the length from the bottom of the crotch seam to the top edge of the front waistband.

thigh

starting 1” below the crotch seam, the width of the leg perpendicular to the outer seam. double the flat measurement.

leg opening

the width of the opening at the bottom of the leg. double the flat measurement.

inseam

following the inside-leg seam, the length from the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.

you know, i’m a high-rise girl through-and-through, so the cass is definitely a bit out of my usual wheelhouse. but, i very quickly realized that having a pair of jeans with a lower rise gives me so many new styling options.

my favorite part of these jeans is the wash -- the black is really beautiful in person and so versatile. the quality of the fabric is amazing, substantial and structured but soft and very very wearable.

i’m usually anywhere from a 23 - 25 depending on the cut but pretty reliably a 24. these were a 25, and i think for folks with bigger hips/thighs could size up one like i did, but otherwise true to size. at first, they were definitely snug through the hips and thighs, but relaxed pretty quickly -- but even then, the first time i put them on, the fabric felt perfectly broken in and comfortable.

working in the shop, i’ve seen how the rises on some of our jeans can sit too high for some people , and when that's the case, i think cass is like a chef’s-kiss for those customers.
