sewn from an open weave denim that feels like a heavier-weight fabric, but does so without the extra bulk -- it is a sturdy, substantial, year-round denim.

the shade is deep indigo, giving it a more modern and subtle blue that deepens as it wears. the result yields perfect fades with rich contrast... earned through time and circumstance.

barton sits right on the hips and is slim through the thigh and knee.

How To Measure

first thing's first, grab a pair of your favorite pants that have a similar rise. find a measuring tape and a flat surface to measure on. be sure to lay your pants flat, smoothing out the fabric to remove any slack. compare the measurements to the chart below.

waist

the circumference of the waistband, along the top edge.

hip

the width at the bottom of the J stitch, straight across. double the flat measurement.

Front rise

the length from the bottom of the crotch seam to the top edge of the front waistband.

thigh

starting 1” below the crotch seam, the width of the leg perpendicular to the outer seam. double the flat measurement.

leg opening

the width of the opening at the bottom of the leg. double the flat measurement.

inseam

following the inside-leg seam, the length from the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.

notes:

these jeans were my first experience of breaking in a new pair of rigid denim -- with the brand new crisp fabric with the dark indigo color, you feel like you need to baby them, but the more you break them in, the more comfortable you feel wearing them, not only because the fit loosens up and the fabric gets softer, but because you’re ok with them taking some wear and tear and the fades that give them personality.

i'm a size 32, and these jeans are dead bull’s-eye true to size.

a few years back, i had a big skating wipeout while wearing these and tore a massive hole in the knee, i had them patched in the repair shop and now the patched knee is my favorite part of these well loved jeans.

i've been wearing these jeans for over 5 years, and these are still a go-to for me. i love the slimmer fit, while still being comfortable.
