featuring a moderate high rise, an accommodating but fitted top block, and a straight leg with slight taper, this iteration of amelia combines a deep burgundy fabric with an indigo-dyed thread package, resulting in a subtle level of contrast and dimension that will only get better with time.

How To Measure

first thing's first, grab a pair of your favorite pants that have a similar rise. find a measuring tape and a flat surface to measure on. be sure to lay your pants flat, smoothing out the fabric to remove any slack. compare the measurements to the chart above.

waist

the circumference of the waistband, along the top edge.

hip

the width at the bottom of the J stitch, straight across. double the flat measurement.

Front rise

the length from the bottom of the crotch seam to the top edge of the front waistband.

thigh

starting 1” below the crotch seam, the width of the leg perpendicular to the outer seam. double the flat measurement.

leg opening

the width of the opening at the bottom of the leg. double the flat measurement.

inseam

following the inside-leg seam, the length from the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.

these jeans are pretty great -- at first, i was admittedly a smidge skeptical about the color, but after a few wears, i realized it's practically a neutral because it's so dark and goes well with so many different shades.

i normally wear a size 24 in i+w jeans, so these were a size up from that. i could have gone down a size for a more snug look, but i like how this size looks just cinched with a belt. they felt great when i first put them on, even though the fabric was a little more rigid, but it became more relaxed and comfortable after just a couple wears.

since it's summer, i naturally gravitate toward pairing these with an easy t-shirt and a belt, or a tucked in tank top -- if you're looking for a classic high waisted jean with a colorful twist, these are your jeans.
