How To Measure

first thing's first, grab a pair of your favorite pants that have a similar rise. find a measuring tape and a flat surface to measure on. be sure to lay your pants flat, smoothing out the fabric to remove any slack. compare the measurements to the chart below.

waist

the circumference of the waistband, along the top edge.

hip

the width at the bottom of the J stitch, straight across. double the flat measurement.

Front rise

the length from the bottom of the crotch seam to the top edge of the front waistband.

thigh

starting 1” below the crotch seam, the width of the leg perpendicular to the outer seam. double the flat measurement.

leg opening

the width of the opening at the bottom of the leg. double the flat measurement.

inseam

following the inside-leg seam, the length from the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.

notes:

i loved these! i had never worn a jean heavier than 14oz so it was fun to feel how they changed and softened up each day. i could really see the progression in them, going from this super stiff blank canvas of a jean, to having all this character from my daily activities.

i would imagine a 20oz jean can seem like quite the undertaking when you pick a pair up but that just wasn’t the case at all with these. my typically size is 28-29 but these were a size 30. initially, they were the stiffest jeans i had ever put on, but through my first day of wear i could feel a huge difference -- the waist, hip, and thigh seemed to have the most change overall just a few days in. i could still feel the weight of the jean as the day and days wore on, but the mobility improved along the way.

i always put my i+w gear to the test whether it be my daily commute on my bike, long weekend rides, skating, or busy days in the shop! the 20 oz willie’s are built for anything you want to throw at them from the jump and are perfect for showing that as they wear.
