to us, the beauty of their shirts lies in the dichotomy of influences: they're informed heavily by the history of traditional pearl snaps, but are then constructed with beautiful, intricate fabrics that are full of depth and character.

after washing these fabrics down to perfection, we leaned on Richter's quality of construction and attention to detail to bring all these elements together for something truly special.

How To Measure

first off, grab a similar shirt, a measuring tape, and find a flat surface to measure on. lay the shirt out flat, smoothing out the fabric to remove all slack.

length

the length from where the shoulder meets neck, straight down to the bottom of the hem, measured on the front of the garment.

shoulder

the width from shoulder point to shoulder point, straight across.

chest

the width of chest, 1" below the armhole.

sleeve

the length along the top of the sleeve from shoulder point to bottom of cuff.

neck

the width of neck opening from seam to seam, where the collar meets the shoulder, straight across.

originally established in 2011 by their founder Mario Guajardo, Richter produces each and every one of their pearl snaps in their sewing room in San Antonio, TX. from a very young age, as he spent his free time drawing designs of western shirting, Mario knew exactly what he wanted his future to hold.

after moving from Mexico City to San Antonio to pursue his dream of making pearl snaps, a single sewing machine operation quickly expanded to a small-but-mighty team of 12, with each one of those team members playing a key role in the production of their shirts.

as this collaboration went underway, we had the opportunity to visit their San Antonio sewing room... "inspired" is the only way to describe how we felt. their production environment is as diverse, collaborative, and dedicated as we've ever seen.

outside of their standard quality control efforts, each and every member of their sewing team has the ability to pull a shirt off of the production line if it's not perfect -- and the pride and ownership over their work that we witnessed is truly second to none.

building on the history of their hometown of San Antonio, Richter is able to nod to that traditional inspiration while still making something complex and rewarding. the result is extremely special, unexpected, and exciting -- and we couldn't be more honored to work hand in hand with them.
